Probably one of these. Russian armored tractor used for utility work and towing light artillery pieces. Pretty much a “tankette” of pre-WW2 design.

Yeah, it kind of looks like an upgunned version of that, with a laundry-drying rack installed on top for some reason.

I had my own beliefs here, but I see I was wrong. Oop.

The Finns had some great weapons. The best was probably their anti-tank rifle, the Lahti L-39. Their submachine gun, the Suomi KP/-31, was excellent as well. The Soviets were so impressed they copied it, much to the chagrin of the Germans.

That’s actually a radio aerial. Larger radio aerials are the sign of a vehicle designed for a battalion commander or higher. Aerials that big did largely disappear as WWII progressed, as ground attack aircraft such as the Soviets’ dreaded IL-2 Sturmovik used them to ID and kill higher unit leaders.

This archive is incredibly good, but I need to warm those viewing it: There are photos of severely injured and dead soldiers and civilians, and some of those photos are quite ghastly. Don’t peruse the archive if you plan on going to bed in the next two hours.

re: #7 Dark_Falcon

Sorry for the lack of warning, I figured it’d be unnecessary in that WWII = dead bodies, lots of ‘em.
